• Food Photos: Images you capture or upload for analysis
• Anonymous Usage Data: A locally-generated UUID to track your meal history (no account creation required)
• Personal Preferences: Height, weight, health goals, and notification preferences (optional, stored locally and synchronized with our servers)
• Analysis Results: AI-generated food analysis, nutrition scores, vegan nutrient tracking, and recommendations
• Supplement Logs: Manually logged supplement intake (B12, Iron, Zinc, Omega-3)
• Usage Analytics: Anonymous app usage patterns to improve our service

2. How We Use Your Information

Your information is used solely to:

• Analyze your food photos using AI technology via OpenRouter
• Provide comprehensive nutrition insights, vegan nutrient tracking, and personalized recommendations
• Track your daily intake of key vegan nutrients (B12, Iron, Zinc, Omega-3) from meals and supplements
• Maintain your meal and supplement history
• Send optional meal reminder notifications (if enabled by you)
• Process background analysis when you capture photos

3. Data Storage and Security

• Cloud Storage: Images are stored securely with encryption
• Database: Meal and supplement data is stored in a secure PostgreSQL database
• Anonymous Access: No account creation required - we use anonymous authentication with UUID-based data isolation
• Background Processing: Analysis continues securely in the background
• Data Retention: Your data is retained to provide continuous service unless you request deletion
• Local Storage: Preferences and settings are stored locally on your device and synchronized with our servers

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• OpenRouter: For routing AI-powered food analysis to various AI models. Your food images are sent for processing. See OpenRouter's Privacy Policy for details.
• Railway: For hosting our backend infrastructure
• Apple Push Notification Service: For meal reminder notifications (only if you enable this feature)

5. Notifications and Background Processing

• Meal Reminders: Optional notifications are sent locally from your device
• Analysis Notifications: We send notifications when background food analysis is complete
• Control: You can disable all notifications in the app settings at any time

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your stored data
• Request deletion of your data
• Opt out of data collection (note: this will limit app functionality)

Tofu is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
